Russel Poole Banner

George Hedges sent me this photo of Russel Poole’s grave marker in Hackensack Cemetery and statement on June 9, 2019.

Russel Poole was listed on the Original Honor Roll list in the Record newspaper October 5, 1918.

Russel Poole died one day after his 75th birthday when
George Hedges and I were about to finish 8th grade.

“Since I moved last September (2 miles), I haven’t done any research till today. Nice article from the Record 1952 on Doremus. It also mentions a Sgt. Russel Poole. I researched him and I think he lived on Krone or Orchard St. He was Doremus’ Mess Sgt. He’s buried in Hackensack, I sent you a pic of his headstone.”

Best Regards,
George Hedges, Jr.
